About the BTW & our Kansas BTW Chapters:
We are a group of triking enthusiasts that
belong to the greater organization called the BTW, short for "Brothers
of the Third Wheel" which is an international organization that was
organized for the specific purpose of uniting trikers, being a major
resource for triking information, as well as being a united voice when
needed. The BTW is in it's 30th year and hosts "Trike Week", an
event held the second week in June at Branson, Mo. where everyone is
welcomed. More information on the BTW and "Trike Week" can be
found on the National BTW website link located at the bottom of this
page. Each individual chapter of the BTW has it's own calendar of
events. A very good resource for information concerning these
chapters as well as any of the other activities and resources of the BTW
is published in a by-monthly publication call "Triker". This is a
magazine that is professionally put together and does an excellent job
of documenting about anything one would want to know about our
organization and our trikes.
Kansas: This website is a major resource
for information concerning the Kansas BTW. There is also another great
resource, the Kansas BTW Newsletter, a quarterly publication, where
subscribers can read about the actual activities that are continually
happening across the Kansas triking community and what's already being
planned for future events. For more in formation on how
to subscribe to our Kansas BTW Newsletter, contact any of our state
officers.
The Kansas BTW is organized from the
By-Laws of the National BTW Corporation By-Laws. Kansas BTW has
gone a step further and created state level By-Laws. To further
organize, the state of Kansas has local BTW Chapters that also operate
under Chapter By-Laws provided by National BTW and then modified to meet
each chapters individual needs..
A few words about the trikes and trikers:
Our trikes are either custom fabricated,
privately built, normally in the back yard and
garages of our members, and some are
manufactured. Regardless, they are enjoyed
tremendously. But the trikes are only a
part of this picture, it's our family of trikers
that bond us together. The personalities
that enclose our group of enthusiasts are as
numerous as the sand along the sea and enclosed
within these personalities is found the richness
of our brotherhood that draw us all together.
We consider ourselves as family, a family of
trikers that find a warm and most rewarding
fellowship, each and every time we get together
